Shortly after this photo was taken,
Edwards (right) and I (seated) boarded
the chopper behind us for an air assault
into the Phan Thiet countryside.
Fess Parker, who played Davy
Crockett in
Walt Disney's movie "The Alamo", was visiting
patients
at Long Binh Hospital where I was
recuperating from a shell fragment wound.
I stayed 40 days and was released soon
after this photo was taken.
